NYC Spring Break Service Trip

Deposit to save your spot: $25

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU PAY: Once you pay, you are officially signed up for the trip. By signing up, you are taking responsibility to attend the fundraising meetings and help with fundraising events. Non-attendance at these fundraising events forfeits your claim to money raised by the group. You can still attend the trip, but you will be responsible to raise the money on your own. Let others know you are going and invite your friends by RSVPing to the facebook event.

Join us this spring break for a life-changing week in this beautiful and broken city, Saturday, March 6th-Friday, March 12th.

TO SIGN UP:
1) Simply pay your deposit here through paypal.
2) We will have a brief informational meeting in the union after RUF this Thursday. We will have a weekly hour long late evening meeting (location/day/time TBA) to plan the dates for our fundraisers and discuss trip details.

WHERE: The New York School of Urban Ministry in Queens will be our headquarters and lodging for the week, but we will spend time serving with different churches and ministries throughout the city. Each day will be different and will integrate serving, learning and experiencing the city. This is the second year we will be going to NYC and staying at NYSUM--they have great facilities.

WHO: This trip is open to anyone who is willing to commit to serve for the week of spring break and help with fundraisers leading up to the trip. It is open to anyone, regardless of previous involvement with RUF.

COST: Estimated $580* for food, travel, six nights lodging, subway fares, and work materials. We will be renting vans for the week for our transportation but will also utilize the subway.

*NOTE ON THE COST: The team will be organizing two fundraisers to help offset the cost (car detailing and a bake sale). This will knock an estimated $100 off each team members cost. Each team member also sends out letters to friends and family requesting support for the trip, and this year we are also applying for USG funding for our vans, which (if approved) will bring the cost down significantly. So with all of that, you may be able to go cost-free. Last year, no one who signed up to go ended up not raising their money.
